What problems should be paid attention to in the use and maintenance of power steering pump?

As the power source of automobile steering, the power steering pump is the "heart" of the steering system. In developed countries, the loading rate of power steering for large and small cars has been close to 100%. At present, many domestic models have begun to use power steering. Therefore, in the process of promoting and using the steering pump, it is necessary to understand and master its performance and principle so as to achieve correct use and maintenance.

1、 Working principle

Steering pump mainly includes vane, gear and plunger type. From the current domestic development, the vane pump is the most widely used. The main parts include stator, rotor, oil distribution plate, blade, pump body and rear cover. The pump body is equipped with flow control valve and safety valve. When the pump is working, the slide valve has a certain opening to make the flow meet the specified requirements, and the excess flow returns to the pump smoking chamber. If the system pressure exceeds the maximum working pressure of the pump due to the blockage or accident of the oil circuit, the safety valve will open, the slide valve will all open, and all the pressure oil will return to the oil suction chamber, which will protect the system.

2、 Precautions for use and maintenance

1. Select the brand of hydraulic oil correctly, otherwise the efficiency and service life of the pump will be affected.

2. The hydraulic oil used must be clean, checked frequently, and the oil filter on the oil suction path of the oil pump must be replaced regularly. When refueling, the driver must be equipped with a filter device to ensure the cleanliness of the oil. Check, clean or replace the filter device frequently to keep the oil circuit smooth.

3. If the steering pump is not used for a long time, it is not allowed to work at full load immediately when restarting, and there should be at least 10 minutes of no-load operation time.

4. During use, check the steering pump frequently for leakage, normal operation, impact or abnormal noise, so as to find and eliminate faults in time.
