When your vehicle reports that the crankshaft position sensor is faulty or the camshaft position sensor is faulty, you can exchange the two sensors because their sensor structure and principle are identical.

1. Urea liquid level temperature sensor

Temperature: Installed on the urea tank, it can detect the temperature of the urea solution, heat the urea solution through engine hot water, monitor the liquid level height, and send an alarm signal to the ECU when the tank is full, zero, or empty.

Crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor

Structure: electromagnetic and Hall type

Function: The speed sensor collects diesel engine speed signals for the ECU to calculate the cycle fuel supply, and can also provide crankshaft position signals for the ECU to accurately control the fuel injection timing; The auxiliary speed sensor is used as a speed signal to calculate the crankshaft angle and judge the cylinder.

Installation position: flywheel housing, rear of fan. The gap between the sensor and the signal panel is 0.5-1.5 mm

 

Water temperature sensor

Structure: thermistor with negative temperature coefficient, its use range is 40-130 ℃

Function: By measuring the temperature of the coolant, it indicates the temperature of the engine. The coolant temperature signal can be used for cold starting and fan control, mainly for measuring the temperature of engine cooling, thereby further accurately controlling the fuel injection amount.

Installation position: The coolant temperature sensor is installed on the coolant circulation circuit

Working voltage: Two wires, one for a 5 V signal voltage and the other for a ground wire

 

Abnormal water temperature sensor signals can cause engine operating conditions to:

1. The generated low temperature signal can make the ECU believe that the cold start enrichment condition results in increased fuel injection, resulting in excessive mixture concentration, incomplete combustion, and reduced power in the engine.

2. The generaed high temperature signal can cause the ECU to believe that the engine has become hot and reduce the engine speed.

3. If the temperature exceeds 100 degrees, the car will stall or have a speed limit of 1500 rpm.

4. Cylinder cutout testing, acceleration testing, and high-pressure testing all require a temperature above 75 degrees Celsius.

5. The electronic fan requires a temperature between 85 and 93 to operate.

6. Preheating the intake air requires a water temperature signal. Before the injection of the aftertreatment system and EGR operation, the temperature also needs to reach 70 degrees Celsius or above.

Strcture: semiconductor varistor pressure sensor.

Function: calculate the air volume, which is used to control the air fuel ratio and the thermistor of negative temperature coefficient, so as to further accurately control the fuel injection volume.
