The function of the engine support is to support and position the engine. The engine support usually supports the engine and the frame together through the transmission housing and flywheel housing.

Common support methods include three-point support and four point support. The front support of three-point support is supported on the frame through the crankcase, and the rear support is supported on the frame through the gearbox. Four point support means that the front support is supported on the frame through the crankcase, and the rear support is supported on the frame through the flywheel housing.

The powertrain of most of the existing cars generally adopts the layout of front drive horizontal three-point suspension. The engine bracket is a bridge connecting the engine and the frame. The existing engine support, including arch, cantilever and base, is heavy and does not meet the existing purpose of lightweight. At the same time, the engine, the engine bracket and the frame are rigidly connected, so the bumps generated during the driving process of the car are easy to be transferred to the engine, which makes a lot of noise.

As the engine vibrates greatly in the working process, it periodically impacts the support and the frame, resulting in the deformation of the frame and the support. In order to eliminate these adverse consequences, the engine support is generally supported with elastic support. The engine bracket is provided with a longitudinal pull rod, which is used to prevent the longitudinal displacement of the engine due to the deformation of the elastic elements when the vehicle is braking or accelerating. They are connected with the frame rail and the engine through rubber washers.
