The coupling is a mechanical part that can connect the shafts of two different machines and rotate together in the transmission process. Generally speaking, the two shafts will not disengage during the operation of the coupling. However, some couplings with torque limit function will cause the speed difference of the two shafts or even disengage when the torque is too large. It is also widely known as "coupling" in processing workshops and factories.

The main purpose of the coupling is to combine two rotating parts and still operate normally under certain axial, angular deviation or end face displacement. If the coupling is properly selected, installed and maintained, it can reduce a lot of maintenance costs and downtime.

 

How to do the daily maintenance of the coupling?

Regular inspection: check whether the coupling body has cracks, whether the coupling connection is tight and reliable, whether the coupling lubrication condition is good, whether the internal and external gears of the coupling are worn and meshed, and whether there is radial circumferential strike and end face strike when the coupling rotates.

Daily maintenance of coupling:

1. Regularly lubricate and replenish the coupling, especially when the coupling is in continuous production for a long time, check its lubrication condition frequently. Generally, the bearing part of the spider is lubricated once a month, and the spline shaft is lubricated once every three months.

2. During the operation of the work, we should often observe whether the universal joint has abnormal radial swing and bearing heating, and find out that these problems must be repaired in time.

3. The damaged parts of the coupling shall be replaced in time to avoid long-term overload, so as to prevent the coupling from bearing overload and damage.
